Pastor Mike Borgwardt:

is Crossroads’ pastor. He is saved by God’s grace, is married to Mika, and has three great kids. He has served churches in Arizona and Australia as a vicar, and in Minnesota and now here in Chicago as pastor. He likes power-pop, post-punk, the Reinheitsgebot, nordic football, buying other people’s old clothes, and the occasional long walk off a short dock – preferably into a canoe in Northern Minnesota. His favorite Bible passage is Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear…” Go ahead – read the whole thing

President – Clint Sievers:

As Crossroads’ congregational president, Clint oversees and facilitates the work of the coordinators on the leader team. He also oversees efforts such as the management and build out of our new Ministry Center.

Stewardship – Alex Hothan:

Alex serves as Stewardship coordinator and in doing so encourages the congregation to be good stewards of the blessings we have received from God in our time, talents and treasure.

Fellowship – Rachel Putnam:

Rachel serves as Crossroads’ official ‘party planner’, organizing social events large (Annual Picnic, Chili Cook-off) and small (game nights, attending a movie in the park). To learn more about Crossroads’ upcoming fellowship events, click here.

Worship – Ashley Groth:

As worship coordinator, Ashley is responsible for overseeing the preparation for our worship services, such as organizing the monthly set up teams that prepare our worship space for the service, musician programs, and keeps us stocked with supplies.

Service & Care – Mary Schultz:

Through organized service opportunities such as working with refugee families, serving meals in a homeless shelter or working with Habitat for Humanity to build homes in Nicaragua, Mary helps Crossroads find ways to give back to our Ravenswood/Uptown community and beyond. Crossroads’ Care ministries are focused on offering support to our members who need a helping hand, such as offering a home-cooked meal to new parents or a ride to someone who needs one.

Treasurer – Joe Kirsch:

As treasurer, Joe is responsible for handling all of the church’s expenses and for setting the budget at the beginning of each year. The treasurer works closely with the financial secretary to guide the church throughout the year in achieving its financial obligations and goals. Financial status reports are provided at quarterly church member meetings. Joe’s favorite bible passage is Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Financial Secretary – Stacey Zarling:

As Financial Secretary, Stacey works closely with Kacee to manage the offerings Crossroads receives from its members and partners. Stacey also manages our partnership with Simply Giving , which facilitates online and recurring contributions.

Recording Secretary – Elle Goldschmidt:

Elle’s role is primarily administrative: taking and cataloging Leader Team and Congregational meeting minutes, managing the secretary email inbox, and keeping records of various files. One of her favorite sections from Scripture is Philippians 4, which is jam-packed with words to live by, including: “I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”
