Haiti Earthquake Relief

While Crossroads is no longer
collecting funds for earthquake
relief, you may continue to
contribute to the effort simply by
dropping a check in the offering
basket, with "Haiti Earthquake
Relief" on the memo line.
Some of our members may be
interested to know that Thrivent
Financial is matching $1 for every
$2 given by Thrivent members, up to
a maximum of $250 per member
donation, and donations will be
accepted through March 31, 2010.
(Members may opt for their donation
to be distributed through any of a
number of Lutheran charitable
agencies, including WELS Committee

Lenten
Gatherings |
Beginning on Ash Wednesday
(2/17),
we will have Lenten devotional
gatherings in member homes every
Wednesday evening until Holy Week. Each
evening will begin with a light meal
(like soup and bread) beginning at
6:30pm, and will continue
at 7:00pm
with a meditation on and discussion of a
section of the Bible's record of the
final days of Jesus' ministry,
culminating with his death on Good
Friday. This year, we will follow
the narrative in John's Gospel. Please
join us!

Small Groups Restarting |

Crossroads is organizing small groups for weekly or
bi-weekly Bible study and fellowship, with the goal of
kicking off groups in September. If you are interested
in participating in or facilitating a group, contact
Kate Dall via telephone or email --
katedall@gmail.com / 847-962-9397.
This is a great opportunity to be strengthened in your
faith and relationship with God, and also to get to know
other members of the Crossroads community better. We
hope to organize these groups around special interests
(young parents/families, men, women...) so if you have an
area of interest or buddies you want to start a group
with, let Kate know. ALSO, if anyone is interested in
working with Kate to coordinate our Spiritual Formation
efforts, please contact her on this as well.
